Bingo Players at LIV

February 7, 2013 - Thursday night the Bingo Players returned to LIV nightclub for a highly anticipated performance. I have seen many DJs over the last two years in Miami, but this was my first experience with the Bingo Players.

The opening set by LIV’s resident DJ, Mednas, pumped everyone up and got the energy moving throughout the crowd. Once the Bingo Players took to the DJ booth the club was packed with party goers. The duo went straight into their set of full throttle tracks that blasted through the speakers and rang in the ears of the crowd.

Hailing from The Netherlands, Paul Baümer & Maarten Hoogstraten translated their eccentric style by showing that they were having fun with their performance. Many DJs remain straight-faced but this Dutch duo couldn’t seem to contain their excitement. Seeing this made me want to feel just as thrilled as they were. My friends and I didn’t stop dancing for hours; such a great work out.  Though everyone seemed to be having a great time, my group of friends was definitely the life of the party.

When the song “Rattle” came on all hell broke loose and those first few beats took everyone to a place of familiarity and extreme energy. There was no doubt that Rattle was the song of the night.

In a sea of confetti, champagne, and people, the music still overruled all and did not get lost in the mix of the wild nightlife scene. Of all of my nights out at LIV, this was certainly one of my best experiences. Many DJs sound mediocre to me but this was a standout night complimented by the positive response from the rest of the crowd.

The Bingo Players will be back in Miami on March 16, 2013 for Ultra Music Festival.

  1. was that house music? I’m really interested and would like to go. Where is the nightclub? Did you get a chance to talk to the DJs? How do they compare to Miami DJs?
